Event Coverage: Book signing with Seth Apter

Saturday, May 5, 2012

Marché hosted its first book signing event with our dear friend, Seth Apter.

His book, The Pulse of Mixed Media, is a very interesting body of work that examines the minds of 100 artists in an unpretentious and whimsical manner. The questions asked are unorthodox, and every artist's response is unique and inspired. The signing was the definition of an intimate gathering, as many of the attendees have been followers of Seth's work for a long time. Admirers greeted him, yet the interactions between everyone flowed candidly.

Wine, aromatic cheeses, a medley of chorizo, and fresh baguettes were the perfect treats for all of our guests. The event, at its heart, resembled a relaxed gathering of friends. The heartfelt speech about Janaki's mom, Patricia Larsen, was endearing and perfectly timed, with Mother's Day quickly heading our way. Thank you to everyone who attended, for making this event a success!

On this night, we also discovered that Marche will now be serving ice cream from Birchwood Dairy in Abbotsford. They gave me a sample cone, and I must say that we are all in for a treat this summer!
