Neighbourhood Goods N° 001

Saturday, September 8, 2012

In the spirit of buying local and community-building, we asked our wonderful neighbours with trees to kindly bring our shop any surplus fruit that they don't know what to do with. We love this because it helps the people around us get involved, whilst offering our guests a chance to buy some delicious and uniquely local goods at a competitive rate. So far we have received batches of plums (pictured above), Japanese plums, figs, and Asian pears (pictured above). The plums came in a few weeks ago and and sold quickly. The photo of the pears, on the other hand, is from last year, around late September.

If you would like to be one of the first to find out about our new products, you can sign up for our e-mail newsletter, or follow Le Marché on Facebook and Twitter.

such a lovely idea - thank you for doing what you do!

We picked up a brown paper bag full of your sweetest organic peaches the other day when we were there, brought them home, and my two little kids devoured them in one evening - I always regretted not buying more! As my five-year-old kept sing-songing: "Why are these peaches so GOOOOD? These are the BEST PEACHES EVER!!!"

xox.
